Letter to my first grandson

The proudest grandpa. 29 years, 2 months and 23 days ago I held your daddy -my baby- just like this!

Damian, at last you have arrived!. You are a miracle! Your are only 4 days old, yes that's only f-o-u-r--d-a-y-s--o-l-d!!!
You are beautiful!
Welcome to this world!. This is a beautiful, lovely and amazing place.
You are beautiful. I love you!
You were sent here to make this world a more beautiful place to live. Who sent you? Well, a believer would say that God sent you, a non believer would probably say that destiny, (whatever that  means) did so. Who cares? Don't waste time with those questions. Life is so short that you must make the most out of it.
You are here and that's what matters. I know that you will be a spoiled child,  your innocent look and your sweet face can melt everybody's heart. I can't hardly wait to take you with me to places that you will love. There's so much to see, so much to know, so much to learn and so much to admire.
Damian, baby, you will be a very smart boy and you must use that intelligence to make a difference in other people's lives. But you will not be alone, I will be beside as long for as long as I am able, and your parents allow it.
You will go far and will be successful, but do not take all the credit for your success, always remember your roots. Be humble.
Don't blame others for your failures, you will have some. But take heart in knowing that mistakes are life experiences that teach us how to do a better job.
You can become anything, You can do anything. Always try something new, don't be afraid of making mistakes.
I can tell you this from the heart: it's always better to regret something after doing it, than regretting no doing anything at all,  at the end you will gain experiences. And experiences will keep you from committing regretful mistakes.

Forgive others for their mistakes, you don't know what is going on in their lives.
Love everyone around you. Love is something that does not exist in great abundance, everybody needs it, you will, too. And don't hesitate to ask for it and don't hesitate to show it.
Life is too short to be shy. Don't be shy. Laugh as often and loud as you can, dance as if there's no tomorrow, sing with all your heart, eat as much as you can and cry like a baby, just as you did earlier today, while I was holding you.
Damian, even thought the weather today is according to some, cold wet and miserable, just thinking of you it makes it feel like spring is already here.

Wait, I'm thinking! Four hours ago I was floating somewhere comfortably. Where am I now?
