What makes the Unites States the greatest country in the world?, you ask?

America is NOT the greatest country in the world!Period! I have often (lately) ponder, what makes the US the greatest? The above scene comes to mind, and, seriously though there's more to add to the disgraces and shortcomings. For instance, there's too many people living in poverty and below poverty, homeless, illiterate, uneducated, ill, depressed and desperate through no fault of their own. The government, past and present gets  focused on spending billions or trillions of money policing the world and squandering in  military efforts. Pharma companies are only focused in amassing wealth to compete with each other, their victims, the  ill people who needs the drugs to survive are the ones that ironically sustain them. Its dog eats dog; Donna Brazile makes new revelations about DNC and Hillary, but  what's so new about it really? We have a fake President who doesn't have the slightest idea on how to lead a country. A President who is more interested in being praised on his ability to tweet. We have a Congress that can't get its head out of his own asshole, heck they  haven't even figured out how to think for themselves, they're lead by people who are not in government positions but who  have plenty of money to move interests for their own agendas. God!, I can go on and on and on and on, but where does it end? I refuse to acquiesce to the law of the land. I cannot define my ideals by siding with a political party, I'm ashamed to admit that since 1987 I have always surrendered my vote to the Dems. Neither label serve the ordinary peoples idealistic morals and convictions, in my view. I don't mean to be cynical but I more and more resolutely  feel open to apathy. Republican, Democratic or Independent are not about the well-being and welfare of the people they intend to govern, the people who elect them, but rather about oppressing the minorities, which oddly enough are the ones that need to be educated about  how we let those in the most powerful positions in conjunction with the media, brainwash us into thinking that the "other" party is the one for us.
So if you are still  asking, Why is America the greatest country in the world? I don't know what the fuck you're talking about!

United States ranks 7th place in literacy, 27th in math, 19th in Science, 26th in life expectancy, 170 in infant mortality.

Personal pain

Chester Bennington of Linkin Park just passed away. It was reported that he killed himself. He was suffering from extreme depression exacerbated by his surviving sexual abuse as a child, and later by alcohol and drugs.
I just wanted to record this thoughts of mine for posterity.
Listening to Linkin Park's rendition of "One more light" live in Jimmy Kimmel's Show, in memory of his friend Chris Cornell of Audioslave fame, who himself committed suicide six or seven weeks earlier, brought back memories in myself.
I try no to dwell in the past anymore. I think that I'm beyond that, thanks to what I learned while attending a 12-step program.
Nevertheless,  watching Chester emotional rendition of his song, you can tell that his pain is very much raw and visible.
The darkness of the mind that takes over when memories of past abuse can be revived by witnessing other people's similar experiences.
The mind gets hijacked and you are no longer in full control of your acts and thoughts; a dangerous time, that if you don't come out of it quick it can spell disaster. And you hit bottom. Again.
Change gears. I pray for my boys, my wife and especially my baby daughter, who lives a sentence she did not asked for, and much less deserve.

Milestone and on my way to the next 1K miles mark

I recently was notified by my app MapMyRide that I have just complete the first One thousand miles of bike riding, yes, 1,000 miles!.
Now I know I have ridden more than a thousand miles, (possibly Two thousand if we count my past rides with my other two old bikes).
But on this bike (my Trek) and since I started using this Application on my phone, I've just recorded 1k miles.
So to celebrate and add a few more on my way to the 2,000 mark I went on riding for three consecutive days, three differet and separate rides mind you.

Mid way on this ride, I stopped for a breather and a snack at Southside Lions Park.

June 18th, (Father's Day) I did a 29 miles ride on the southside, it was exhausting and debilitating to a point, but worth it nevertheless.

June 19th . I went to New Braunfels, Tx and did the Gruene Trail , I completen 24 miles out of 30 that the route claims. I was tired and my behind hurt from the previous day.

The Guad. River Road 3rd. crossing. New Braunfels, Texas

June 20th. Another 13 miles, Started from home and turn-around at Alamo and Probandt. Short and sweet ride.

On my way back home of the third day ride I stopped at the Alamo.

Where's Zeus?

It's 12:10 AM, January 16, 2017, raining hard. The loud thunder brings to mind Zeus, the lost little Chihuahua, he was scared of the thunder. Every time there was weather like this now, he would always look for human comfort. If I was the only one at home when there was a raging storm out there, he would come to me in the studio and touch my feet or prop up on my legs, asking for shelter from the scary thunder.

I still wonder what what happened to him? Where is he now? Is he still alive? Is he in a good home?
